NZAC is pleased to advise we are finalising an agreement with Robotics Plus to align with a partnership agreement between the technology company and Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) to develop a commercial scale autonomous robotic asparagus harvester.
Named by the industry as the ‘Asparagus Future’ project, it will build on the prototype harvester worked done by the University of Waikato. The four-year project utilises grower trials and feedback, and involves the industry creating a unique selling proposition for New Zealand grown asparagus overseas to generate export revenue for the country.
